My take on
Postiz (gitroomhq/postiz-app) after self-hosting it on a Linux box:
- ✅ It runs for free on your own computer: the app, the backend and the posting queues for every network all started.
- 🔌 I didn't connect any real social accounts, so I can't show a post going out. Each network needs its own developer app and keys before it can post.
- 🧱 Heavy to set up without Docker: it needs a database, Redis, a job server (Temporal) and Node 22. The backend ran out of memory once on a 15 GB box until I stopped other things.
- 🟡 Partial: my test sign-up didn't get past the sign-up screen, so I never reached the calendar.
- 👉 For most people: use their Docker setup, or the paid hosted version.
"It's a real Buffer replacement under the hood, but self-hosting it is a weekend project, not a one-liner."
